Achieve the Perfect Glow with a Halo Laser Treatment in Wayzata

There are a lot of skincare treatment options out there. While many of us have been dabbling in at-home treatments, nothing compares to a professional skin resurfacing treatment that can rewind the clock and repair skin damage.

The best professional laser resurfacing procedure is the Halo laser treatment. Today we’re going to take some time to discuss everything there is to know about this advanced laser resurfacing technique.

As aesthetic and medical professionals at Vively Body Science, it’s our mission (and our passion!) to help others learn about the infinite possibilities of aesthetic treatments. Our Halo laser is one of our favorite options for treating a multitude of skin concerns. As a premier med spa serving patients in Wayzata, Minnesota, we’re here to discuss the technology behind Halo laser, its benefits, paired treatments, and more.

What is a Halo Laser treatment?

Named after and known for the halo-like radiance it gives to your skin, a Halo laser treatment is the first hybrid fractional laser for skin rejuvenation. Your skin will feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and have that glowing-from-within look with this advanced treatment.

How does a Halo Laser treatment work?

The “hybrid” in this hybrid fractional laser refers to its use of both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. Innovative in its technology, these wavelengths penetrate both the outer and deeper layers of the skin to effectively rejuvenate your complexion and address a wide variety of skin concerns.

Ablative wavelengths vaporize aged skin cell tissue to create dramatic resurfacing improvements by targeting the epidermis (outer layer) of the skin.

Non-ablative wavelengths work to treat the dermis (deeper layer) of the skin by creating small thermal “injuries” and tissue coagulation, increasing the production of elastin and collagen—two protein fibers that create youthful, glowing skin.

This hybrid technology combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to maximize results and minimize patient downtime. In years past, purely ablative laser treatments would require more patient downtime (and cause more discomfort) to get similar results. Halo laser makes it so you can receive maximum results with little downtime.

What does Halo Laser treat?

Halo uses laser technology to target and repair skin concerns such as:

    • Sun Spots and Sun Damage
    • Facial Redness
    • Small Veins
    • Fine Lines/Wrinkles
    • Large Pores
    • Uneven Skin Tone/Texture
    • Scars

Halo isn’t just for the face either; it can treat other body areas such as your neck, chest, and hands, as well as your arms, legs, abdomen, and back. Its customizable energy settings can meet your individual needs to produce the results you’re looking for. A Vively professional can create a custom treatment plan for you during a consultation for your Halo laser treatment.

Benefits of a Halo Laser Treatment

Don’t let its ethereal name fool you—this laser resurfacing treatment packs a punch with its skin-rejuvenating benefits.

Clear, Youthful Skin

The Halo laser treatment works deeply within the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin to target and repair signs of aging, damage, and more. Your skin tone and texture can improve, and fine lines and wrinkles can decrease, creating clear, more youthful skin.

Fast Healing and Minimal Downtime

Compared to ablative treatments of similar strength, the downtime for a Halo laser treatment is much more minimal. It produces the results of ablative wavelength lasers with the recovery of non-ablative wavelength treatments. Though there will be some downtime involved, it’s worth it for the dramatic results of a Halo laser treatment.

Increase Your Confidence

Halo remediates years of damage and aging through precise application and depth. With a restored youthful glow, you can also experience increased confidence in your skin!

Vively Body Science is a med spa founded and operated by medical physicians. We’re mindful of both the science behind our treatments and the art of providing aesthetic procedures. With more than forty years of combined clinical and medical experience, you’re in excellent care with our team of aesthetic professionals.

The Halo Laser Treatment Process

At Vively Body Science, we have a tried and true three-step process for our patients receiving their Halo laser treatments.

Skin Consultation

Before any treatment, you’ll have a complimentary consultation and VISIA skin analysis. Our laser resurfacing specialist will perform an individualized skin analysis to understand the treatment area(s) in depth. We’ll then discuss your skin concerns and goals and how we can help you achieve optimal results.

Based on this discussion, we’ll create an individualized treatment plan to meet your needs. We may plan a series of two or three procedures followed by recommended maintenance. This all depends on the unique needs of each patient.

Your Halo Laser Treatment: Procedure

One of our laser resurfacing specialists will perform your procedure. The full process includes applying a topical numbing ointment, laser application, and cooling/recovery time. This entire treatment can take two to three hours, depending on the areas treated and cooling time.

Treatment Aftercare

After your Halo laser treatment, we will send you home with professional skincare products to use as directed. We will request daily recovery progress updates, as well as a follow up appointment in one to two weeks. During this follow up appointment, we will evaluate your results and discuss further treatment if warranted.

Pairing Halo Laser With BBL

If you’re looking for enhanced results that address both texture and discoloration, we recommend completing a ForeverYoung BBL treatment paired with Halo laser.

Many people play the long game and do these treatments over several years, but if you want faster results to take years off your skin’s appearance, BBL and Halo work best when combined in this manner. Many patients do a series of three BBLs, pairing a Halo treatment on top of the first BBL.

ForeverYoung BBL

ForeverYoung BBL is a non-invasive light therapy treatment known for its anti-aging effects and so much more. It can treat all types of skin concerns, namely aging skin, rosacea and redness, sun and age spots, wrinkles/fine lines, acne, and sagging skin.

BBL is also beneficial because you can treat many areas other than the face such as the:

        • Neck
        • Chest
        • Arms
        • Legs
        • Back
        • Hands

With BBL, there is minimal to no downtime after the procedure; in fact, most clients can apply makeup immediately following treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time of year for a Halo laser treatment?

The best time of year for a Halo laser treatment is during the cooler months. We recommend getting ahead of summer because your skin will be sensitive to the sun and sweat for the duration of your recovery period. Most patients find it more convenient to undergo treatment when they’re spending most of their time indoors in the winter months.

Why You Should Plan Ahead For Summer With Halo Skin Laser

When will I see results?

You will begin to see your Halo laser treatment results two to five days after the procedure. You will see the full effect in eight to twelve weeks.

What does a Halo laser treatment feel like?

Patients often report that a Halo laser treatment feels like moderate heat, or even a sunburn, on the treatment area. The Halo procedure includes numbing with a topical anesthetic prior to the treatment. This helps to limit discomfort you may feel.

How long will my results last?

Your results last a lifetime with a proper skincare regimen. A series of treatments may be recommended for full correction. Maintenance treatments are often recommended to extend your results; subsequent treatments after your initial resurfacing will further improve your skin.

When can I return to my normal routine after my Halo laser treatment?

We recommend that you protect your skin for 24 hours after treatment. You can return to your normal routine, but be conscious of your skin and follow the recommended aftercare procedures and skincare regimen. Depending on the range and depth of your procedure, downtime can last between three to six days.

How many Halo laser treatments are needed?

This all depends on your individual skin type and factors such as your age, specific skin concerns, and goals for your skin.

If you are looking to treat something like mild sun damage, you may only need one treatment. More advanced sun damage or signs of aging may require two to three treatments. We can best determine how many treatments you will need in your consultation with VISIA photos or in your follow up appointment after your initial Halo laser treatment.

How much downtime can I expect?

You can expect three to six days of downtime following their Halo laser treatment. If you’re a gym goer, you may not be able to work out for a couple of days due to skin sensitivity.

Treatments that produce the most dramatic results will usually require more downtime. You may want to decide how much time you are willing to invest for the results you want to achieve.
